Episode Two of Jason Michaels TV was a blast! My special guest Grace Good shared with us all about her passion for hula hooping and the circus arts. She even performed a card trick over the screen with me! One of my favorite parts about having Grace as my special guest was when she shared her thoughts on mindfulness and hope. Powerful stuff, there. A big thanks to Grace for being an important part of this episode.
I continued my discussion of resilience with a short lesson on mindfulness and a two minute clip from my #DOTHEIMPOSSIBLE program about courage and bravery.
And we ended this week’s episode with a clip from the documentary Magical Time Travelers. In the clip, I perform a poignant and touching magic trick with a piece of thread that focuses on the subject of hope.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, people around the world have had to self-quarantine in order to be safe and stay healthy. Being forced to take an extreme measure like this will undoubtedly lead to frustration, sadness, loneliness, and depression for many people. There has never been a better time to develop resilience and mental toughness.
In today’s video clip, I share how compassion helps develop resilience. It is wonderful when we have compassion for others, but my focus is to help you develop compassion for yourself. Put away the self-criticism for the foreseeable future and realize that it is okay to accept your feelings for exactly what they are - perfectly natural considering the extraordinary circumstances.
Pay particular attention to the part where I discuss consoling your closest friend. That part of this short 3 minute video clip really speaks to me. I think it will you, too. Click here to watch the video and read the full article.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone in the live events business has been forced to re-think “business as usual.” It was the realization that I was going to be spending a lot more time at home than normal that birthed the idea of creating Jason Michaels TV.
My idea for Jason Michaels TV was to combine the livestreamed performances that so many entertainers were doing with my own “talk show.” (I use the term “talk show” very loosely here!)
This is Episode One, my first attempt, at creating something that would be a fun distraction for everyone who is currently stuck at home, too. Enjoy! (And feel free to tell me what you think!)

I like to talk a lot about doing the impossible. You might say I’m obsessed with it. From magic tricks that appear to be impossible, to overcoming barriers that seem to be - the subject just speaks to me.
In today’s blog article, I wanted to share an excerpt from my book You Can Do the Impossible, Too! where I do something that others thought might not be possible for me to accomplish.
My hope, by sharing this, is that you might see yourself in this story. And if you don’t see yourself exactly, maybe the story will speak to that part of your soul that needs to hear it - because I firmly believe that you can do the things that feel impossible in your life, too…

“The things we believe about ourselves always prove to be true.”
That statement, from my program #DOTHEIMPOSSIBLE, can be hard to understand. After all, it would be very easy to debate the point. I guess that’s why I felt it was necessary to provide examples from my life after I made the statement.
For today’s #TouretteTalk I’ve decided to share a short video clip from my talk about why, and how, what we believe can define the way we see ourselves, the actions we take - virtually everything in our lives…

Yesterday was Independence Day here in the United States of America. Every year, on July 4th, we celebrate the brave, monumental feat that we accomplished 243 years ago - fighting for and claiming our independence.
Our founding fathers fought for freedom. They fought for freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to assemble - all sorts of freedoms they believed were God-given rights. The fought for their freedom against a country they didn’t believe represented them. Talk about high-achievers!
On a seemingly unrelated note, exercise and physical fitness is my hobby. I enjoy going to the gym virtually every day. And for as long as I have been going to the Gold’s Gym in my area I have seen one man in there consistently who has impressed and inspired me.
This man is in the gym all the time. I can count on seeing him at least several times a week. I think it would be safe to say that physical fitness is a lifestyle for him, too. The big difference between him and me (besides the fact that he is in better shape and is more impressive looking than me) is that he wheels his wheel-chair around the gym as he moves from machine to machine getting in a solid workout…

Good Morning. It’s Monday and there are things to do. So, let’s tackle #MotivationMonday.
Today’s main question is…
Long story short…I’m not always positive. I deal with frustration, doubt, and sadness, just like you do.
However, when I wake up in the morning, I choose to be positive. I look around at the world and choose gratitude and thankfulness to be alive.
You know, every day is a new day, and with it, brings new challenges and adventures. I choose to be thankful to see what opportunities will present themselves to me.

One of the cool things that social media provides us is access to our friends that we may have lost touch with. Over the last several years I have re-connected with my former high school Speech and Drama teacher.
I’ve written in my book about auditioning for the Jr/Sr play. That audition, and receiving a leading role in the play was a pivotal moment for me early in life. When I stepped on stage for the first time, I felt like I was “at home.” And when I was performing in front of an audience, the tics and twitches of my Tourette Syndrome just vanished.
And while I was more excited, than fearful or worried, to audition for a role in the play, choosing to step out on to a stage, where there was an audience of people focusing all their attention on me, was certainly taking a risk.

It’s a glorious Monday here in Nashville, TN this morning. I hope it is where you are, too.
In today’s #MotivationMonday video, I tackle two questions…
To overcome a challenge, should you ignore it or acknowledge it?
How do you keep your challenge from defining you?
As far as ignoring or acknowledging the challenge that you are dealing with…that is a very personal decision. Both answers are right.
I have ignored my Tourette Syndrome and I have also acknowledged it. And at different times in my life, both of those choices were right for me.
When I was getting established as an entertainer, I didn’t…

The world needs you, Mr./Ms. Entertainer. If you bring smiles and laughter, if you create amazement and awe, if you help people forget their difficult days - the world needs you. And it needs you in a big way.
I’ve traveled around the world. I’ve met soldiers far away from home. I’ve met men & women worried about how to pay their bills. I’ve met kids who were dealing with health issues that no one should ever deal with.
That’s because life is hard. Just look at the the news. Every day there are stories of difficulty and pain. The next time you’re on social media, look beyond the pollyanna-like lens that everyone wants you to think is their life and see what is really going on. Think about that conversation with your friend where he/she was dealing with doubt and frustration.
Entertainers, like you and me, are a noble breed. We are a bright light in someone’s tough day. We give the gift of happiness and child-like wonder. I’ll say it again, the world needs you and me.
