With the COVID-19 pandemic, people around the world have had to self-quarantine in order to be safe and stay healthy. Being forced to take an extreme measure like this will undoubtedly lead to frustration, sadness, loneliness, and depression for many people. There has never been a better time to develop resilience and mental toughness.
In today’s video clip, I share how compassion helps develop resilience. It is wonderful when we have compassion for others, but my focus is to help you develop compassion for yourself. Put away the self-criticism for the foreseeable future and realize that it is okay to accept your feelings for exactly what they are - perfectly natural considering the extraordinary circumstances.
Pay particular attention to the part where I discuss consoling your closest friend. That part of this short 3 minute video clip really speaks to me. I think it will you, too.

*At the end of the clip, I show a PowerPoint slide that has some of the important points that I talk about outlined. If you would like a copy of that slide as a PDF document to help remind you of some excellent ways to practice compassion, please see below the video.
