One of the most sobering sounds I’ve ever heard was the loud “CLANG!” as the door closed and locked firmly behind me the very first time I entered a prison.

I remember thinking, “How many people know that I’m currently in here?” As if that was going to make much of a difference.

Inspiring people to LIVE B-I-G is my mission and I desperately want it for you.

But why? What does it mean? And how do you LIVE B-I-G anyhow? As a teenager I fell in love with entertaining audiences through acting and the art of magic. I also had Tourette Syndrome, which is a debilitating neurological disorder that manifests itself with uncontrollable body movements and vocalizations. I faced a unique set of challenges in my journey to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional entertainer.

Over the next ten years, I developed a process that helped me defy the naysayers, defeat self-doubt, and live the life that I desperately wanted to live. The result of my decade-long struggle – the powerful LIVE B-I-G system!

I like to talk a lot about doing the impossible. You might say I’m obsessed with it. From magic tricks that appear to be impossible, to overcoming barriers that seem to be - the subject just speaks to me.

In today’s blog article, I wanted to share an excerpt from my book You Can Do the Impossible, Too! where I do something that others thought might not be possible for me to accomplish.

My hope, by sharing this, is that you might see yourself in this story. And if you don’t see yourself exactly, maybe the story will speak to that part of your soul that needs to hear it - because I firmly believe that you can do the things that feel impossible in your life, too…

Good Morning. It’s Monday and there are things to do. So, let’s tackle #MotivationMonday.

Today’s main question is…

  • How do you stay so focused and positive all the time?

Long story short…I’m not always positive. I deal with frustration, doubt, and sadness, just like you do.

However, when I wake up in the morning, I choose to be positive. I look around at the world and choose gratitude and thankfulness to be alive.

You know, every day is a new day, and with it, brings new challenges and adventures. I choose to be thankful to see what opportunities will present themselves to me.

It’s a glorious Monday here in Nashville, TN this morning. I hope it is where you are, too.

In today’s #MotivationMonday video, I tackle two questions…

  • To overcome a challenge, should you ignore it or acknowledge it?

  • How do you keep your challenge from defining you?

As far as ignoring or acknowledging the challenge that you are dealing with…that is a very personal decision. Both answers are right.

I have ignored my Tourette Syndrome and I have also acknowledged it. And at different times in my life, both of those choices were right for me.
